Oviedo is a Seminole County city of about 40,000 people, roughly 20 minutes from downtown Orlando by way of SR 417 and SR 408. It sits next to the University of Central Florida and its research park, along the Econlockhatchee River and Lake Jesup. SR 417 and SR 408 are the two key routes to Orlando, with SR 434 (Broadway Street) crossing the center of town. Alafaya Trail is the major road toward UCF. Weekday mornings and the late afternoon peak are busy on SR 434 and Alafaya Trail, so for an out-of-town or Orlando destination we usually avoid those hours.
