Lakeland is the largest city in Polk County, with 112,641 residents in 2020, and it sits on I-4 between Orlando and Tampa. It is known for its lakes: the swans on Lake Morton descend from a pair given by Queen Elizabeth II in 1957. It is also the home of Publix's headquarters.
