Moving in East Orlando
East Orlando is the Orange County side along Alafaya Trail, also signed as State Road 434, from the University of Central Florida campus south toward Colonial Drive. The main campus sits on Alafaya Trail. University Boulevard runs west from the campus toward the older city. Colonial Drive, State Road 50, is the east-west road through Union Park and out to Avalon Park. Toro Movers is a family-owned company that started in 2024. Crews work in English and Spanish.
A move here is rarely one kind of building. Off-campus apartments crowd Science Drive and Alafaya Trail. Waterford Lakes is a large residential area with a town center on Alafaya Trail near Waterford Lakes Parkway. The entrances are on North Alafaya Trail and East Colonial Drive. Lake Underhill Road is a separate road farther south. It meets Alafaya Trail south of State Road 408, and it is not the town center. Avalon Park is a master-planned community farther east, with a town center on Avalon Park Boulevard. Union Park is a census-designated place along Colonial Drive, east of Semoran Boulevard (State Road 436). Houses, townhomes, and apartments sit in all four, and the access note is different in each.
Central Florida Research Park sits next to the campus. People who start work there often move into a nearby apartment rather than a house. Tell us if the job is a furnished apartment, a house with a garage, or a mix, because the truck path is not the same.
Roads into East Orlando
State Road 408, the East-West Expressway, runs from downtown Orlando and Interstate 4 out to Colonial Drive near Challenger Parkway. That is the usual tolled path when the other stop is downtown, College Park, or the west side and this stop is on Alafaya. State Road 417, the GreeneWay, is the eastern beltway. It meets University Boulevard and Colonial Drive, so a job from the south side or from Lake Nona can stay on 417 until the exit closest to the door. Alafaya Trail itself is slow when classes change and on weekday evenings. Say which part of the day the building allows, and the arrival is planned around that window.
Oviedo sits northeast of the campus. A hop from this side of town to Oviedo, or back toward Orlando, stays on one local booking when both addresses are in Central Florida. Curry Ford Road is the east-west road south of Colonial, and State Road 417 meets it. An address on Curry Ford is not a Waterford Lakes address.

Apartments, gates, and where the truck stands
Ask the leasing office which door the crew must use, whether the elevator has to be held, how long that hold lasts, and where a truck may stand. A garage under an apartment building can have a height limit. Send the office's answers with the date. A hold written for a few boxes is often too short for a furnished apartment.
Avalon Park and parts of Waterford Lakes use a gate or a staffed entry. If the street has a gate, send the instructions and the arrival window the association gave you. We do not guess a code. Houses in Union Park often sit closer to the curb than a new subdivision. Tell us if the driveway is shorter than a truck and the stop has to be the street. Off-campus leases near the campus often turn over when a term starts, so ask for the elevator hold before that week.
What to book
A full-service job includes the truck when both addresses are in Central Florida. Labor-only is the crew when the U-Haul, rental truck, or POD is already at the apartment or the house. Packing is the add-on when rooms are still open and you want them boxed before the carry. The apartment page is the right read when the floor, the elevator, or the loading zone is the hard part. The Orlando page covers the rest of the city when the other stop is not on this side of town.
