Moving in Altamonte Springs

Altamonte Springs is a suburban city of about 46,000 people in Seminole County, built around the intersection of Interstate 4 and State Road 436. Its center of gravity is Uptown Altamonte, a modern outdoor town center, with Cranes Roost Park just beside it. The city is served by SunRail and sits only a few miles from Rollins College and the University of Central Florida. Toro Movers is a family-owned company that began in 2024, and we work in English and Spanish.

Apartments, condos and older single-family streets

Condominiums, townhomes and apartments make up a large part of the housing around the center of Altamonte Springs, so many moves here involve an elevator, a stairwell or a loading dock.

  • Cranes Roost includes condominiums, townhomes and villas around the park. Waterside at Cranes Roost, a 1980s condominium community, has smaller units, so the question is usually how to move a full household through narrow stairs.
  • Uptown Altamonte adds newer apartments close to shops and restaurants, with parking garages and shared entrances. Ask for the building's move-in hours, elevator reservation process and any height limit on the garage.
  • Spring Oaks and Sanlando are established single-family neighborhoods whose homes mostly date from the 1970s and 1980s. Spring Oaks has larger houses, and many with pools.

If the property is a condominium, the association may limit move-in hours, and may want a certificate of insurance. Send us the rules with your quote request.

Where we move

Roads and timing

State Road 436, called Altamonte Avenue in the city, runs east-west and meets I-4 at the center of town. Uptown Altamonte and Cranes Roost sit east of I-4 on SR 436. That corridor is busy on weekday mornings and evenings, and again on weekends. We usually plan a start before the commute for an apartment move, so the garage and elevator are free.

Hot, wet weather applies from June to September. We protect furniture on the truck and ask for shaded staging space if possible.

FAQ

Altamonte Springs questions

A house in Altamonte Springs often needs a door-to-door move. A rental truck there needs labor-only help. A walk-up or a held elevator is covered on the apartment page.

Can you move me out of a condo with a strict move-out window?

Yes. Share the window and the elevator booking, and we will plan the crew size to finish inside it.

What if the parking garage has a low clearance?

Tell us the clearance. We may use a smaller truck or park at a loading zone nearby.

Do you serve Spanish speakers?

Yes. Our crews and our quote process work in Spanish.
